On this anniversary...

Listen up, the war on terrorism is a fraud concocted to keep the American people in constant fear from an indefinable enemy. You will have a much greater chance in your lifetime of having to defend your property from confiscation against eminent domain than you will of encountering terrorists.

Terrorism is a technique. Terrorism is neither a country nor an enemy. Any group of people can resort to the technique of terrorism. Terrorism cannot be defended against. Any nut or group of extremists can resort to terrorist techniques for any radical cause. Muslim extremists as well as Christian zealots come to mind. Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolph were both terrorists and avowed Christians.

The notion that a far flung group of jihadists hiding out in caves in Southeast Asia pose a dire threat to the United States is asinine. The group of people who hijacked the aircrafts on 9-11 numbered nineteen. Nineteen people were all that was required to send this nation into a state of hysteria. The American military is designed to confront the militaries of other nations, not combat miniscule cells of wackos residing inside the borders of the United States. Had American law enforcement acted upon any number of warning signs the tragedy might have been prevented.

The grandiose scale of the crashing of the airliners into the World Trade Centers and Pentagon, understandably weigh heavily on the minds of Americans. Let’s not forget however that the World Trade Center had been targeted before, again by a small group of extremists. The same can be said for the Oklahoma bombing.

Only infiltration by law enforcement can defeat plots such as these that involve small groups of saboteurs and then not all plots can be thwarted. The KKK was a classic terrorist organization who were largely infiltrated and then prosecuted by FBI agents.

None of the recent plots carried out by suicidal saboteurs could have been defended against by a military force. Therefore it is disingenuous for our leaders to portray our ongoing military campaigns in the far reaches of the world as a fight against people determined to attack the United States. The United States is under no exterior threat from jihadists. Any campaign of terrorism, from the bombing of abortion clinics, lynchings, kidnappings, robberies and hijackings that occur in the future will be initiated from inside our borders as they have all been.

The governmentally defined war on terror hysterics that now dominate America’s collective psyche is designed, patently, to ensure a perpetual, indefinable enemy that politicians can call upon to spook the public and guarantee increasing defense budgets and endless military campaigns into infinity. It’s time for Americans to wake up to this reality and quit jumping at shadows and stop wantonly surrendering their freedom.
